Watkins Glen in upstate New York has always been one of my favorite places to explore. It’s an unbelievable natural creation for the East Coast. On my way to Geneva, NY, last summer, I stopped to make some long-exposure images of the glen with my iPhone. Also I don’t recommend anyone holding their iPhone out a car window while racing down a country road, but sometimes you get lucky - like that last shot.
Last night I walked around Santa Monica Pier at sunset with two amazing mobile photographers. This is David Gamboa doing a “jumpstagram.” Not pictured is Dirk Dallas. Great meeting these two inspiring people!
Moments after landing in New Orleans last week, I asked our driver to take us to the Lower Ninth Ward so we could see what it’s like post-Hurricane Katrina. Most of the neighborhood is barren and overgrown; the non-profit organization Make It Right is the one clear exception, which is building affordable and sustainable homes for working families.
Abigail Gullo making a Sazerac at the Commander’s Palace, New Orleans. I spent some time getting to know the NYC native and charismatic bar chef at SoBou while in New Orleans last week. She brings a lot of passion and knowledge to mixing drinks. Oh, and she’s a big Mets fan like me!
I spent a few days in New Orleans last week, here are some shots from this special city. More photos on my Flickr.
I went to France this weekend to pick grapes, and I took some non-iPhone photos too. Here they are on Flickr.
One summer afternoon I took a break from work and wandered over to Battery Park. This little girl was running barefoot and giggling in the waterpark for kids next to the harbor.

Portrait in the desert. I just got back from a 5-hour tour of the desert, it was amazing. This guy was in charge of the camels. #abudhabi #desert #uae (taken and edited on iPhone)
The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. I spent a peaceful hour wandering the grounds with the other bloggers here, they are a fun and inspiring group of new friends! (taken with DSLR)
